Evaluations Update

By Webmaster, 06/18/20, 11:30PM EDT

Hello Phantoms Youth Families,

We had originally hoped to get all of our players back on the ice and evaluated prior to the July 4th weekend but with the delay of Northampton County moving to the green phase the evaluation period is now being moved into July.  Hockey Operations recognizes that July is a busy time for many families and listened to many people who are concerned about making summer plans that don't conflict with potential evaluation dates.

In turn, the Phantoms Youth are running a flexible evaluation schedule this year that will begin on the week of July 6 and will run three consecutive weeks.  Every level will be assigned 6 evaluation sessions (2 per week) and we are asking that every player attend a minimum of 2 sessions across the 3 weeks.  Our goal is to have teams announced on Saturday, July 25.

The three-week schedule can be found here:

Week of 7/6 -

Week of 7/13 -

Week of 7/20 -

Below are a couple basic Questions and Answers regarding the evaluation process.

-Is there an additional charge for the evaluation slots? No these are included as part of your registration fee

-Can I attend more than 2 sessions? Players are able to attend all 6 assigned sessions, and are encouraged to do so

-Does it matter which 2 sessions I attend? No, this format is designed so that families have flexibility

-If my player attends more than 2 sessions can I choose which 2 sessions are evaluation sessions for my player? No, every session is an evaluation.  Hockey Ops would like to see every player for a minimum of 2 hours to give them a full and fair evaluation.

All players must inform Hockey Operations of which sessions they will be attending so that we can ensure that every player receives a full evaluation.  You will be getting an invite to a SignUp Genius for your assigned level. Please use this to sign up for the sessions you will attend.

U8 players will be evaluated in the middle of August when full Phantoms programming resumes but will still receive invites to 6 skills sessions.  We ask that you let us know which sessions you plan to attend so we can ensure the best experience for all players.

In addition to the change in evaluation format the Executive Board has approved that all payment plans for the 2020 - 2021 season (with the exception of the AYHL team) will begin on August 1 as opposed to July 1.

Thank you,
