Michael Cuchran named Squirt B Head Coach

“The Lehigh Valley Phantoms Youth is pleased to announce Coach Mike Cuchran as our Squirt B Head Coach. Mike brings years of playing and coaching experience to the organization. We look forward to a great year of development at the Squirt Level. Mike’s Bio is below.”

MICHAEL CUCHRAN H: 610-262-8152 | C: 610-633-1421 RE: Coaching Biography 5/16/2018 • Born in Astoria, New York and began playing hockey at age of 5. • Family moved to Whitehall, Pennsylvania in 1976 and started playing travel hockey for the Lehigh Valley Comets. Home rink was the old ‘Ice Palace’ in Allentown. • Played travel hockey with the LV Comets up through and including Midget 18U. • Attended University of Pittsburgh and played 4 years for PITT. • After graduating college, moved back home to Whitehall, PA and continued playing hockey with a local men’s league team. Currently still playing local men’s league hockey. • Presently live in Northampton, PA and have lived there for the past 20 years. • I have 4 children actively involved in youth sports, 3 currently play hockey as well. Their ages range from 9 through 17. • Dynamically involved and active in local youth sports organizations. Past and current involvements include: - Board member of local athletic association (Lehigh Township Athletic Association, LTAA). - Director of soccer program for LTAA (8 years) - Commissioner and club representative for Lehigh Valley Youth Soccer League - Commissioner and club representative for Blue Mountain Youth Soccer League - Organized coaches training sessions and coaches USSF licensing courses - Organized skills clinics and off season training sessions for local youth soccer players - Involved in various fundraising activities and event opportunities for local youth sports • Coaching credentials: - Coached youth soccer for 14 years. Age levels U5 through U18 (boys and girls teams) - Coached teams at various levels; in-house, recreational, travel, tournament, indoor, and high school ‘age’ teams. - Attained Level VI coaches license through NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America / ‘United Soccer Coaches’) - Concussion awareness training, through CDC - Certified ‘First Responder’, training through Eastern PA EMS Council & N.C.C. - Cleared background checks; PA State Police and PA Child Abuse I am looking forward to coaching and being a part of your sons/daughters hockey team this upcoming season. I enjoy coaching youth sports, teaching the players, and observing their progress and growth throughout the season. I like to believe that I offer structure, discipline and a sound path of development for the players with emphasis of having ‘Competitive Fun’ while playing this wonderful game of hockey! I have a love and passion for this game and I expect to share it with the players. See you on the ice!
