Player & Parent Handbook
View Handbook

The Player & Parent Handbook is your go-to reference for how our organization operates — both on and off the ice. Every family is expected to review it at the start of the season and refer back to it as needed.

Inside, you'll find essential information on:

  • Player and parent expectations

  • Required equipment and uniforms

  • Coaching philosophy and team structure

  • Locker room, social media, and fundraising policies

  • Communication protocols and conduct standards

  • Health and safety procedures — including concussion and injury return-to-play

Please read it thoroughly and reach out to your Team Manager with any questions.

Dress Code & Uniform Standards
View Full Dress Code

What players wear on the ice reflects who we are as a team. This page outlines required gear, approved practice and game uniforms, and prohibited items. All players and families are expected to review and follow these guidelines.

Consistency matters — and so does showing up as one team.

USA Hockey Policies
View Policies

As a USA Hockey member organization, we follow national policies on safety, conduct, and fair play. This section includes:

  • Codes of Conduct for players, parents, coaches, and spectators

  • The Declaration of Player Safety, Fair Play, and Respect

  • USA Hockey’s Zero Tolerance Policy

These policies promote a safe, respectful environment for everyone involved in the game.

Communication Protocol
View Full Protocol

This protocol ensures that concerns are addressed efficiently and through the proper channels. It outlines who to contact and when — starting with your Team Manager and escalating only if needed.

Parents, players, and coaches should never contact the league directly. Only the President may communicate with league officials on behalf of the organization.

Concussion Protocol
View Full Policy

If a concussion is suspected, Phantoms Youth follows a strict return-to-play process in line with USA Hockey and state guidelines. This includes medical evaluation, rest, a six-stage return progression, and written clearance using the USA Hockey Return to Play form.

Players may not return to the ice until written medical clearance is received.
